Successful International meeting
Success
Board members and trustees from the various supporting associations and charities in Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, United Kingdom and Switzerland met at the Institute to hear updates on the successes and progress of the Institute over the past two years and to learn of its future plans. They were able to exchange ideas about fund-raising and communication. As usual the international meeting proved a success. In Switzerland they had been very active in organising presentations for different groups which had resulted in high income. The UK is exploring other channels; seeking grants from charitable trusts and larger donors, whilst in Holland they have many ideas to exploit online and social media. Japan, currently in its start-up phase, can pick up the best ideas to use for their own activities.
Volunteers
The participants from the various countries come to the international meeting at their own expense. The work of the five fund -raising organisations from the different countries is done by the board and volunteers. They all work in their own country to generate income for the Institute.
Exchange
Exchanging ideas between countries by mail or telephone is instructive and efficient but to fully exploit this exchange personal contact is necessary. This meeting also generates more motivation to work for the Institute. Board members can see with their own eyes how the work is necessary. Now that they are back in their own countries, they have new ideas and plans to make the work of the Institute more visible.
